USTools has been abandoned. Its functionality is now a part of EINE.

USTools is an UTAU plugin made to convert USTs to a version that is compatible with the voicebank you are using. Specifically, converting the UST into CV or VCV and having the lyrics be written in Hiragana or Romaji.

To break professionalism for a second, I have seen plugins out there that convert USTs from CV to VCV and convert Romaji to Hiragana, but I have had issues with them. I have used Lyric Diphonizer to convert from CV to VCV, but it has only ever done the opposite for me, probably because the voicebanks I use are combined CV and VCV voicebanks (eg. Nukupoid, Kenji Baionoto). I have also used romantokana for my needs of converting Romaji to Hiragana, but it doesn't work on VCV USTs and it can't convert from Hiragana to Romaji. I could not find anything that satisfied my needs, so I decided to make a plugin that does.

Upon running the USTools plugin, you are met with two sets of options: CV or VCV and Hiragana or Romaji. Simply select the choices that you need, click apply and close the plugin. WARNING: If you are using a UST that has EINE appends defined, USTools will not work. You will need to remove the appends first. You can reapply the appends once the UST has been converted.

There is an extra function integrated into USTools. If the voicebank you are using has a file in it called USTools_Dictionary.txt, USTools will read that file and take modify its Hiragana/Romaji dictionary accordingly. There is however a strict format this file must adhere to. Details of this standard are included in the download, using the YukaiLoids as an example.

There will be no further versions of USTools as the functionality that was in USTools has been added to EINE and has been expanded upon in EINE. These versions of USTools will remain up for download, however.
